From Jasper National Park we retake the road towards the return to Vancouver and we move for three days to Banff from where we will visit the National Park of the same name. Along the way there are two important stops, the first at the Columbia glacier or Athabasca glacier where it is possible to walk to the morainic tongue or to be accompanied for a guided walk with crampons from the base or by 4X4 bus up to a certain height. We opted for the walk up to the ice tongue. It is impressive to find along the road the memorial stones of where the ice floe arrived in previous years and to understand how backward it is year by year.
The second stop we made was to visit and enjoy the spectacular view of Peyto Lake and the top of the Bow Hill, a nice walk through woods and paths until you get to the lookout from where you can enjoy a spectacular view of the lake with its turquoise waters.
