The region around Tennant Creek is the vast plateau of Barkly, characterized by savannah as far as the eye could see, endless blue skies and huge herds of cattle. This area belongs to the aboriginal population of Warumungu. Tennant Creek is also known as the location of the Northern Territory with “a heart of gold”, not only for the extreme kindness of the inhabitants, but also for the gold rush that took place here around the thirties.
