We start with the sun shining for a trip around of the Tongariro National Park, which include three volcanoes, the largest of which, the Ruapehu had the last eruption in 1996 (the third is the conical Ngauruhoe). The three peaks are covered with snow, during the tour we pass nearby of the most beautiful Hotel of the area, the “Chateau Tongariro” that has Alpine-style rooms with fine wood furnishings. We reach the ski resort at the foot of Ruapehu. We also made a walk along a walking path with views of rivers and waterfalls. We continue the tour through the Desert Road that passes through the valley south of the volcano Ruapehu, very impressive the similarity of the American deserts.
