The city of Chicago, known as the “windy city”, is a lively and amusing and amazing metropolis on the shores of Lake Michigan, with its skyscrapers, its bridges, its famous Loop and parks like the Millenium: it is a place to live and work with pleasure. Therefore, it has a typically continental climate, with distinctly climatic seasons, in fact in summers are really hot and in winter you can freeze. We wandered walking through its streets and with its rattling subway, visiting its lakeside and strolling along the riverwalks. Really peculiar the Navy pier where we attended the 4th of July fireworks, the Millemiun Park with its extravagant “crown fountain” and the shimmering bean called “Cloud Gate”, not forgetting the Jay Pritzker pavillon, a huge lawn where you can follow the shows of the Harris theater.
We used its noisy and intricate subway starting right from the raised rails called “the loop”, exploring streets and squares (in one of that we found a huge mosaic, made by Chagall, called “the four season”), enjoying the architectural designs, inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright, breathing the atmosphere of the Blues that resonates between the clubs and the streets of the center (the movie “the Blues Brothers” has deep roots in this city …)
A trip to visit its crowded beaches such as Foster beach, a climb on John Hancock for “360 Chicago”, but above all a selfie under the famous Route 66 starting point road sign.
