Departure from Franz Ioseph after a good breakfast and stop to visit the glacier with the homonymous name of the town (actually it is the opposite, it is the town that has the same name as the glacier) walk of an hour and a half along the moraine stream to to the nearest language. Wonderful landscape with beautiful views and waterfalls in profusion.
We leave for Queenstown, the queen of the New Zealand Alps, roads with some stretches complicated by the presence of ice and the inevitable gravel, winding and with various ups and downs. We arrive in Queenstown where a freezing cold welcomes us (it will drop in the night to -6 °).
tomorrow we move to Lake Te Anau.
